OPEN DOOR PROGRAM DESCRIPTION (Pre-Covid)

First Presbyterian Church - Downstairs (enter through north door)

School Days 7:00 a.m.

The Open Door project provides a warm and encouraging place for Baker Middle School students to go before school. Students are openly welcomed to come in, have breakfast, play games, and visit with each other and with supportive adults, in a safe, caring environment. Breakfast is free, and we serve approximately 55 middle school students daily (cost to the program is approximately $2.75 per meal). Middle school teachers and administrators report this program has a huge impact on the students’ ability to function throughout the school day. This is a community-wide outreach with our volunteers and financial support coming from individuals, other local churches, community groups, and civic organizations throughout Baker City.
